I do not write very many posts anymore, the reason is that by the time I spend time stopping and taking photos and then downloading them to the computer and making the post I have but three hours into that post. I might make a dollar on that post!
I was at one point delegating to some of the bigger delegation pools but the content they upvoted was content I would not normally upvote, so I stopped doing that and used those delegations for the community that I am a part of.
I am going to say this and it is speculative I guess, and might be an opinion. I have talked to people about becoming a part of Hive and got laughed at. I was asked why become a part of something that the whales on the platform created to just enrich themselves and to fool people into upvoting them in hopes of a little bit of the crumbs they drop to keep the smaller users happy.
I guess the real question is if my posts make a .50 or a 1.00 then should I just post content that is only worth that amount? Divide the post up into parts to make it worth my time and effort? If I was to do that then I would catch hell from many of the people that upvote my posts, which the majority are smaller accounts on Hive.
In my mind, Hive was created to be better than Facebook and Twitter, and other social media platforms. I was told by many Youtubers it takes a year to create a following and then they can make about 100.00 a month on Youtube and makes a short video every week, then up from there. It is not seen as being better really by many, as it takes more time to create quality content that people want, then makes nothing for that time spent. I was always told time is money and with Hive the time spent is not worth the money that making quality content brings to the poster. Curation takes time and I find it easier to set up and an autovoter for the number of rewards that curation gets my account.
