Yesterday was payday, so I went out to take care of the usual chores that I do on payday. While I was out taking care of stuff, I stopped and bought a few more tomato plants for the greenhouse, and I finally found a catnip plant to grow this year for the cats. The one I had last year didn't survive the winter, which seems weird to me, but it's probably because it was in a pot in the greenhouse over the winter, and the freeze-thaw cycle probably was bad for it. Catnip is invasive like other mint plants, so I don't want to plant it in the ground here.
When I got home with the plants, I decided to go ahead and plant them in the big pots. I had a few of the big pots ready to go, so I started with them. I already had one of the plants planted when I took this picture.

I had to get some more of the potting soil ready for the half empty pots so I could plant them. This is organic raised bed soil, I mix vermiculite into it to loosen it up a bit.
A couple of the plants that I bought had 2 plants in the little pots, so I separated them and planted each one in it's own pot. I had 6 plants that way, 3 San Marzano plants and 3 Roma paste tomato plants. I ran out of marigold plants for the companion planting, I'll have to get a few more of them.
I have 2 more pots to fill and plant. I'm hoping to find a couple of Amish Paste tomato plants for those last 2 pots.
I put in most of the tomato cages and one section of the irrigation pipe. I'll wait to put the rest of the tomato cages in until I have the other 2 pots planted. Then I can put in the other section of irrigation pipe and put the tomato cages over it. It's easier that way.
I'll have to look for the other two tomato plants tomorrow or Saturday to see if I can get them locally. Usually one of the greenhouses has them for sale. I also need to buy my seed potatoes for the community garden so I can get those planted. It's going to be busy for the next couple of weeks getting stuff planted. I know there's some rainy days in the forecast, so there will be days when not much gets done in the garden.
