Role of men is downplayed at several instances just because they are men. However, I am not sure if men think of the pains their wives pass through while being pregnant or dilivering baby, at least in my society as the responsibility of women these pains are really under estimated. So far as losing wife or baby is concerned, yes, it may be stressful.
