Thought provoking. Religion, at its best, seems to satisfy the human need for a shared, common reality. This also reminds me of a quote that struck me a while ago: Faith is finer than god. I think many of us, especially our youth, have lost faith in human goodness, institutions and larger society. That loss of faith undermines our ability to envision and create a world we actually want to live in.

I find Ramaswamy's perspectives on religion interesting, where he attributes the rise of "woke" culture to the hunger for purpose and meaning, especially in the absence and/or decline of religion.
