The sad thing is while activism is less violent, activism is also less effective in bringing people together over matters of common interest and human goodness - significantly due to this fifth-generation warfare. Since social media is ingrained into society in ways never before seen, this has its own harmful implications with cancel culture and healthy, public debate being stifled by censorship, algorithms, and an eroding attention economy. This seems to be more dangerous than violent activism.
