I'm speechless. Awesome work here!! So precise and thought provoking. I've never heard of preference falsification. It makes so much sense. Our tendency to be dishonest about personal preferences conflicting with perceived social norms continues to be exploited by those in power, with the rise of nudge units in government and other more covert ways our behaviors are being shaped psychosocially.
I love that you cited the Asch conformity experiences too. I'm excited about the implications of how conformity can be reduced by just one dissenting voice.
