An unsettling image appeared in my head, thinking about this mass of snow landing so close to you. I am so thankful that this experience was a warning, and not something more than that. Yet your interpretation of it sounds right on. Slowing down and paying attention makes total sense. I would also add opening up to and being in direct contact with our deeper feeling states as well. At least that's what I've found to be true for me, as it's quite easy (on an unconscious level) to keep stuff like that at a distance even if we're being aware and observant of what's going on.
It's a juicy thought to think about where your focused discipline lies next. We shall see!
