Yes Mark! This reminds me of a saying that you don’t invest trust in others or the universe. You invest trust in yourself with whatever comes your way. And I find that trusting ourselves invites an inner alchemy that shapes and influences the universe around us. As Carl Sagan says… we are the universe becoming aware of itself through our own consciousness. Is this what you were getting at?
Rolled my eyes a few times reading this poem too. Having a huge grin in the face of possible nuclear war, economic collapse, and elite global control feels like a new age spin that polarizes us in the other direction (get rid of your ego, love over fear, etc). This simplifies the wholeness and complexity of the human experience. I would much rather lean into the future with a mind and heart that can hold it all. Our fears and anxieties can be incredible catalysts.
