We are already reviewing the tenth volume of the Invincible series written by Robert Kirkman. See what to expect from this comic.

There are comic book series that, despite many chapters and plots, maintain a high level, and their reading is exciting, addictive, full of delicious story twists. Moreover, these titles stand out from the series of similar themes, they are innovative, inventive and original. It should also be noted that the individual episodes overlap with each other, the entire universe is coherent and meaningful, and the characters are credible. This honorable group definitely includes the series Invinvible, the irreplaceable Robert Kirkman. In the tenth volume of the reviewed run, further dramatic events take place - the deceptions and behind-the-scenes activities of the former hero come to light.

The American screenwriter has an unusual knack for presenting his characters with increasingly difficult and complex challenges. As in the famous horror saga The Walking Dead, Kirkman, after a moment of calming down, serves us tragic, chilling scenes. At the same time, he perfectly juggles various literary and film genres, positively surprising his faithful readers. Invincible is a delicious mix of pure fantasy, SF, initiation story, spectacular superhero cinema, juicy horror and drama. The above genres can be found in the tenth volume of the popular series, which reveals further secrets and controversial actions of individual characters.

As a result of the trick of the lurking enemy, Mark was imprisoned in another dimension. The protagonist of the series must show incredible cunning and intelligence to return to his world. He tries his best to take revenge on the treacherous comrade in arms, and his mind is troubled by the thought of his pregnant beloved, Eve, left on Earth. After the (much too quickly presented) return to the home planet, a race against time begins. Stopping the mad tyrant is a priority for the hero. Unfortunately, the aggressor's sudden attack on Eve and the unfortunate accident significantly slow down Invincible's actions. Meanwhile, an army of robots invades Earth, and a new villain begins to implement his enlightened plan for total domination over humanity.

Kirkman would not be himself if he had not presented Mark's fight with his former friend in a completely different light. Solving this thread confirms our belief that we are dealing with an unconventional, exemplary, well-thought-out title. Equally important events take place in the background, the bloody and many days long battle between the brave Battle Beast and the former emperor Thragg is the best example. At this point, the cartoon and precise frames by the regular cartoonist of the series, Ryan Ottley, and the vivid colors of the work of John Rauch and Jean-Francois Beaulieu should be praised. Add to that the rape committed by a vulgar alien on the main character of the series, the plot of Rex the Robot and his toxic relationship with Monster Girl, and we'll get one of the best volumes in the series.

For dessert, we get Mark, Eve and their daughters (Terry) moving to the planet Talescria, their meeting with his half-brother Olivier and the new commander of the Planet Coalition, Allen the Alien. The episode devoted to their difficult existence on a strange planet, and especially getting to know Olivier's scary-looking partner, introduces to this comic a large dose of black humor, watered with a large dose of horror and macabre, associated with the films of David Cronenberg (the legendary Fly). In the album, there will also be sudden deaths of two important supporting characters, of which the death of a wild warrior is tragic and shocking.

The tenth volume of Invicible, after the last slightly weaker album, brings the whole cycle back on track. It is dynamic, effective, sometimes dramatically and even (specifically) funny. The creator of the Living Dead skillfully placed individual figures on the board, brought new misfortunes and traumas to Marek, and placed the whole thing in a colorful, phenomenal and elaborate universe. Hats off.
