Hi @xpilar
In the midst of the eternal snows of the Silver Mountains, in the northern lands, the armies of King Or advanced to the rhythm of the rumbling of ominous drums, the steps of his heavy boots made the ground tremble and the ice caps crumbled, his shining armor of steel and gold, flashed before the intense sunlight.
On their way, they had ravaged and plundered the fortified cities of Labea and Ectea, their cavalry mounted on huge, coarse-haired steeds adorned with silver scales, had ridden over the frozen lake of Goran, defeating the horsemen of Ur and forcing their king to surrender and surrender his treasures.
Or rejoiced in his victories and the spoils he had gathered in his march. But now he was at the gates of what would be his ultimate goal, hidden in the midst of the Silver Mountains, where few had managed to reach, let alone return, was the village of Ileon, a mythical village, which the chronicles pointed to as the dwelling of the greatest treasure, one greater than gold and all the precious stones of the continent, one with enough power to make its bearer the most powerful man in history.
The uproar caused by the trumpets of Or's army upon his arrival at the village limits, caused Zoel, the chieftain of the place, to send a delegation of his most faithful subjects to receive the strangers and show them their hospitality.
Or pointed out to the delegates that their chieftain should surrender and hand over his treasure, or that very night the village would burn and his people would be killed.
After a few hours, as night fell, Zoel, together with a small delegation of ten soldiers, dressed in light armor, followed by a row of about fifty children under the age of twelve and some women with their babies in their arms, appeared before Or, who, sitting on a large sandalwood throne and cushions lined in fine silk, waited under an awning in the middle of the small plain in front of the village.
-Mr. Or," said Zoel, leaning on his right knee and bending his head, while his entourage did the same thing -. With respect, I ask you to forgive our village, we are only humble farmers, we have lived for centuries under the influence of a terrible curse, we who were born here all descend from the same lineage, which by dark designs, is doomed to guard the object of its grief and remain here forever, - he explained.
-I am not interested in your miserable people, I only want the treasure that you protect, - answered Or, without raising his voice.
-This is our treasure, -said Zoel, pointing with his hand to the children who were following him -. Our children are the only good we have and our greatest treasure.
Or, he rose from the throne and advanced towards Zoel, his eyes were burning with fury and his face had turned red, he put his boot on Zoel's shoulder and made him bury his face in the snow.
-Don't deceive me, miserable garbage, surrender your treasure or I'll end your miserable village, -he shouted angrily.
-But sir, this is our only treasure, -repeated Zoel, with difficulty.
Those were the last words of the chief, that night Ileon was looted and burned, his men murdered, his women taken as slaves, to satisfy Or's soldiers and his treasure was abandoned to die in the midst of the flames of the fire.
During the looting, Or was given a blue crystal, which was kept in a sealed lead urn, and which was hidden in what was Zoel's house.
-So this was the treasure you hid from me, you foolish scoundrel, -said Or, looking at that beautiful but intriguing booty.
Or he would not see the morning coming, the crystal, the curse that had been placed on Ileon several hundred years before, a sorceress, enraged by the disobedience she had suffered from the patriarch of the lineage, from the inhabitants of the village, had poisoned him and his emanations, had condemned the men of her army to stay in the lands of Ileon, for those who perceived them, as well as their descendants, would die by distancing themselves more than five kilometers from the crystal or by trying to drive him away from the village.
Or's army, now condemned to inhabit Ileon and his descendants would become the new settlers of that hidden village in the middle of the Silver Mountains.
