Friendly greetings dear Hivers, I hope you are having a wonderful week. These days I've been eager to publish something in this art community, but always the days go by very fast and as I've said in other occasions, drawing requires time and patience, not only talent and technique. Well, finally I wanted to bring you something different, it's a bit of menstrual art.
Painting with menstruation is one of the things I've always wanted to do, this time I gave myself the opportunity taking advantage of the fact that I'm on my days. Besides being an artistic experience, it is also an approach to oneself, because giving shape to a pigment provided by your own body is awesome. I made a simple red flower using a white sheet, a pencil, a brush, my menstruation, a black and a yellow crayon.
The first thing I did was to trace the flower with the pencil, with very light lines. For that reason I had to darken the photo a little, to be able to perceive the pencil line; because with the natural light it was not possible to see it.
Then I began to apply the red pigment. It was very easy to get it since I use a menstrual cup and this makes me have full accessibility to my menstruation.
Once the flower was all painted I began to make the details with the black pencil. With this I marked the darkest shadows, mainly in the union of the petals in the center of the flower.
I finished the flower and wanted to make a yellow detail in the background.
Finally I added a few drops of menstruation around the flower, to give it a better finish. And this was the result.
I hope you enjoy the step by step of this simple work that I have done with a lot of love.
