Many of the rich people in modern times are entrepreneurs, unlike in ancient times, they were all princes and generals. Their way to get rich is to serve the poor and make money for themselves.

This is the positive side of capitalism.

But there are also many institutionalized flaws in real capitalism that allow a few people to gain much more money than the value they provide. And huge amounts of money then give them too much control over how the entire system functions, which tends to cause capitalist systems to give increasingly unfair advantages to the rich.

Raising awareness of the flaws of unbounded capitalism is an important goal, if it is to continue functioning at all, because if the flaws in real world capitalism are exploited too much, the system becomes unbearably unfair, and it will probably lead to one of two things: a near slave state or war.

But on two of your points, I completely agree: this show does not do a good job of reflecting reality, nor does it point to any solutions.
