Thanks for the link. He talked about the potential danger from the spike protein in his talk on thehardwire interview as well. I think that is the primary basis for him recommending against the vaccine for children (children at low risk of dying from covid statistically, so why risk taking a potentially risky vaccine).
I can see his point, but the argument doesn't really ring true for me. I think his stance would make sense if covid didn't spread so well. Then you could make the argument that you would be exposing your child to this spike protein unnecessarily.
But covid is a superspreader virus and is becoming increasingly so as it mutates into variants like Delta/Delta+. So odds are, children that don't get the vaccine are going to be exposed to the spike protein via covid itself, and that's going to be worse than an exposure via the vaccine.
Also, there is a "tragedy of the commons" at play here: if enough people get vaccinated, we can effectively stamp out covid and stop the mutations. If fear of the vaccines prevent that from happening, we're going to have to wait till we hit herd immunity naturally, and not only will that cause more people to die, it will also give the virus more time to mutate. And it is this latter possibility that should worry us all.
