My husband, seeing me in despair, decided to suggest we get out and breathe, and we went on a phenomenal escape. We climbed Mount Waraira Repano, the name our indigenous ancestors gave to Avila, the big mountain that surrounds the city of Caracas.
And what do you think? While I was up there, my creative spark was rekindled to record my catwalk and a question I had to answer for the competition, I used my husband as a cameraman and in a very simple way we made a good video, which I spent Saturday editing from the moment the electricity came back on.
On the other hand, what I liked most about the weekend was this amazing outing, because it turned out to be a super romantic date, we went up the mountain in a funicular, we drank hot chocolate, then a bottle of blackberry liqueur, we walked for a long time, hugs and kisses were not lacking, it was really an unforgettable trip because it was unexpected and rewarding.
I think an experience like this is worth more than any academic goals, because we are talking about a marriage that is already 19 years old and we need to keep the spark and the passion alive, that is the most important thing. I would run away with him again, no matter what.
And now, over there, there is a question from the weekend engagement that I would like to answer and also to know what the situation is in other countries, and that is about compulsory voting, just to tell you that in my country it is not compulsory to vote, because voting is a right but not a duty in our case, this has been the case since 1999 when our current national constitution was created.
However, the majority of people are registered to vote, more than 90%, although when it comes to the elections, between 60% and 80% turn out to vote, depending on the positions to be elected.
I would also like to leave a reflection on credit debt, but this is a very personal assessment, in my country we have lost the ability to save for almost 5 years due to the strong economic crisis we are going through, and this has caused that we do not have how to save, and due to the economic instability caused by high inflation, the banks stopped granting credit cards, and we were free of this yoke for several years, see the good side.
But on the other hand we could not get loans to buy houses or cars and that slowed down the growth of quality of life for many people, it seems that in some way there is an improvement and last year I got a new credit card and now we are hearing again about bank loans to reactivate businesses. I would have preferred to learn to live without them and grow as much as possible, it is divine to be free of bank debts, although I have fallen into the trap again.
And now I tell you that I ended my Sunday with my family looking for a place to have a nice hot soup and we found it very close to our house to warm us up from these cold and rainy days.
