I was kind of a nice person who didn't want to hang up a phone when we were still in a call, but there was one call that made me decided, that whenever I get the same call, I will never tell I am available.
The call was from one of the telecom company here in my country, and it was from their telemarketer. I think it is because they have all the data of my internet usage and also my identity so it was easier for them to get into me that time.
The telemarketer offer me to upgrade into a post-paid plan because they know I spend a lot of internet quota back then, with the promise that the new bundle will be cheaper. I was at work that time, so I just want it to end without being rude, and I don't have much time to really look into my actual usage and the offer. So I just say yes, just because I want to try it out. The thing that I was asks was how easy it will be if I want to switch back into the prepaid plan, and they said that it was just as easy as making a call to the call center.
Fast forward a few years when Covid hits, and I was home not using the same amount of data, I want to just cancel my post paid plan, and changed back into the prepaid one. I then learn that I need to come to one of their office center to swap back into my previous plan, and it can be done via phone. I was so angry thinking that I was deceived since it was COVID, and travel was restricted, also the office center is like 2 hours away from my home.
It was such an inconvenience, that could have been prevented if i was just hunged up that time. Sometime it is better to be a little rude, than having a problem in the future.
