Use
USDT is integrated into many cryptocurrency exchanges so it is used more than USDC. So considering that USDT is the first stable coin and the only stable coin for a long time, this isn't a surprise
Founders
USDC was founded by Circle and Bitman while USDT was founded by the same team that operates Bitfinex
