I approached the plate gate and witnessed strange cult-like figures carrying a dead body. After passing through the gate, I experienced a strange vision of floating in a void, briefly faced a technical glitch, and finally connected my Q-pid to the Australian terminal.
As I made my way toward the plate gate, the atmosphere grew tense. Right when I approached the pass-through, something bizarre happened. A group of mysterious people appeared out of nowhere from underground.
They moved ahead toward the Mexican plate gate, marching together as if they were on some sort of pilgrimage. They were carrying a dead body inside a box, looking like members of an unfamiliar cult.
Even Dollman admitted that he had never seen them before. He explained that the UCA was working to construct coverage to afford additional security and maintain a record of whoever used the gate, cause they only wanted to ensure safe passage for everyone traveling the network.
Suddenly, violent lightning cracked across the sky and the ground began to shake uncontrollably. Dollman called it a gate quake and warned Sam to brace himself because it was a big one.
Just as abruptly as it began, the shaking stopped. We had to make our way to the plate gate carefully. My Tri-Cruiser bike did not make it through to the other side with me at first, but I was glad to see I could still retrieve it and ride it toward the gate.
Looking ahead, the plate gate looked like a portal into another realm.
When Sam stepped up to the gate, he left his Tri-Cruiser behind. As he moved through the plate gate, a strange phenomenon unfolded. He saw a mirror reflection of himself, and a massive whale floated in the sky right above him.
As Sam cut through the gate, it seemed as though his soul was pulled directly out of his body. Suddenly, he found himself floating in a massive, deep ocean void. He drifted through the endless water, feeling confused and surprised by everything around him.
Dark, terrifying figures floated in the void ahead, and Sam felt an invisible force pulling him closer to them. Even as the colossal whale passed right by him and the figures drew near, Sam did not seem scared at all.
Right at that intense moment, the game hit an unexpected snag. The screen froze, the visuals stopped progressing, and the audio cut out completely. It was the very first time the game had ever lagged like that, leaving me wondering what happened as the screen sat frozen.
Thankfully, after a short wait, the system recovered and started working again.
Sam successfully transitioned from one side to the other, stepping into the strange new land.
As I looked around, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my Tri-Cruiser had actually made it to the other side with me after all, even though I had not manually brought it through the gate.
I hopped onto the bike and began riding toward the Australian plate gate access terminal. I navigated around the terrain carefully, steering clear of tar pits along the way so I would not get stuck with the vehicle.
Once I reached the destination, I stepped up to the access terminal. I activated the machinery and plugged in the Q-pid to link the area. The system initialized, successfully connected the region to the chiral network and established a brand new strand.
