Assaulting a large brigand outpost with Sam, I eliminated the remaining heavily armored guards and destroyed their communication disruptor. After Tarman praised the victory, I scavenged the base, using a pickup vehicle and a newly built generator to haul away all cargo and recharge my gear.
I decided to turn back and deal with the remaining enemies. As we moved in, Sam noted that we were stepping right into their territory. I caught a brigand completely off guard while he was checking on his fallen comrades and took him down immediately.
Moving to the other side, I encountered an enemy wearing heavy armor, requiring a heavy barrage of bullets to finally bring him down.
A few more brigands were scattered around the base, but rather than rushing me, they seemed hesitant, likely spooked after watching their squad mates fall one by one. I took the fight directly to them, spotting a brigand crouching behind cover and taking him out on the spot.
Realizing only a handful remained, I exchanged long-range gunfire with the last few snipers, taking my time to line up clean shots to put them down efficiently.
It quickly became clear that this base was much larger than I had initially thought.
While exploring the perimeter, I ran into another brigand who had the worst luck imaginable, he rounded the corner looking for me just as I had my weapon raised, and I dropped him instantly.
With his fall, the enemy base was officially neutralized, and the regional threat level dropped.
My next objective was to locate and destroy the communication disruptor within the brigand camp. Finding the array, I took a few steps back and opened fire, unloading into the machine until it exploded into scrap.
Tarman chimed in over the comms to praise my work, reminding me to collect the mission recording from the musician on my way back.
Looking at the map, the musician's shelter was quite a distance away, but I had other priorities first. Before leaving, I intended to strip the base clean of every valuable resource available.
I initially tried using an enemy vehicle to speed up the process, but realized I couldn't automatically collect cargo off the ground while driving it like I could on my Tri-Cruiser.
I changed my plan, started riding my Tri-Cruiser over to the larger truck, and transferred my initial haul into its flatbed.
I then drove the Tri-Cruiser back through the base to scavenge every corner, picking up materials until both my personal pack and the bike were completely maxed out on weight.
Returning to the Pickup Loader, I loaded the rest of the salvaged loot onto the truck. Since the location connected to the chiral network, I constructed a generator on-site.
The generator immediately began charging up both of my vehicles and my equipped Battle Skeleton, giving me time to organize my cargo before heading off toward the musician.
Which shot was your favorite from today's set? Let me know in the comments. Until the next frame drops, keep exploring. Alpha Gamer, out.
