Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for sunday the 21st day of January, 2024. The Reds, Liverpool without Mohamed Salah, who is away with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, is presently leading Bournemouth (0-1) at the Vitality Stadium.

Earlier today, Sheffield United played out a pulsating (2-2) draw with WestHam United. That match produced some nasty moments with Brewster (Dismissed at 90'+3) for Sheffield United and Coufal (Dismissed at 90'+7minutes) for WestHam all collecting red cards.

In the ongoing AFCON, the match between Morocco vs DR Congo ended in a draw (1-1), while Tanzania is presently leading Zambia (0-1). The final game for today will be between South Africa vs Namibia by 20:00 GMT.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the world of aviation. He finds out that on this day in 1976, the Concorde, a commercial aircraft built with support from the British and French governments, began regular operation, producing a sonic boom when it flew through the sky at supersonic speeds.

From the world of aviation, Larry goes to the USA. He finds out that on this day in 2017, demonstrations, known collectively as the Women's March, were held around the world to support gender equality, civil rights, and other issues that were expected to face challenges under newly inaugurated US President Donald Trump; it was widely regarded as the largest single-day demonstration in American history.

From the USA, Larry goes to Spain. He finds out that on this day in 1941, Plácido Domingo, a Spanish-born operatic tenor whose voice, physical stature, and dramatic abilities propelled him to fame in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, was born in Madrid.

From Spain, Larry goes to the Soviet Union. He finds out that on this day in 1924, Vladimir Lenin, who spearheaded the 1917 Russian Revolution and went on to become the first leader of the Soviet Union from 1917 to 1924, died in Gorki (later Gorki Leninskiye), near Moscow.

From the Soviet Union, Larry goes to France. He finds out that on this day in 1793, during the French Revolution, Louis XVI, the last Bourbon king of France, was put to death in Paris by guillotine.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from the world of fashion. He finds out that during this month in 1905, Christian Dior, the fashion designer whose label has become a worldwide phenomenon, was born in Granville, France.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
