Hello everyone and happy weekend. Hope we had a nice day? Well, Larry is unwinding the week as he reclines in his three legged wooden chair and ponders how the week has gone. It appears to him that the week just flew by and he reflects on the number of deliveries he had made so far and the outstanding ones. He knows he is a hardworking postman; he decides to work one more day before the new week commences tomorrow. That entails that he had to cut short his relaxation. To put himself in the mod he decides to have a look at today in #history.
Gentlemen, Larry begins his look at today in history from the world of space exploration. He is so much fascinated by the study of the terrestrial world. He finds out that on this day in 1965, Mariner 4, an unmanned space probe launched by NASA in 1964, flew by Mars and returned close-up images of its surface, revealing that the planet's rumored canals were merely illusions.
Larry then shifts his attention to the tech world. Larry finds out that on this day in 2006, the online microblogging service Twitter was officially launched by its cofounders Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, and Biz Stone, and within a decade it had more than 300 million users.
Larry's attention was drawn to this fascinating news about crime. He notes that serial killer Andrew Cunanan murdered Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace on this day in 1997.
Finally, Larry also finds out that on this day in 1939, Ali Khamenei, Iranian cleric and politician who served as president of Iran from 1981 to 1989 and as the country's rahbar, or leader, from 1989 was born in Mashhad, Iran. Khamenei was often addressed with the title ayatollah.
Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry then picked up his parcels and begins his day activities.
