I must admit I'm close to getting rid of the last of my HBD. My original thought was to use the liquid HIVE I freed up to convert to USDT, USDC or BTC in order to recover my original investment.

But then I did the maths and realised that even if I turned all my HIVE to something else, I'd recover less than 10% of the fiat value I'd invested in HIVE.

So my new plan (until I can come up with something better !) is to hold onto the HIVE and HP and hope that Hive is a good enough ecosystem to weather the storm, then rebuild the value of what I hold once the dust settles.

In the wider world, I'm expecting a crash; stocks seem massively over-valued right now, and yet dividend earnings seem to be lower than ever. AI stocks look especially vulnerable. How can companies be valued in multiple billions of dollars when all they are doing is burning cash with hardly any revenue, and AI generally appears to be becoming both more pervasive yet less under control or reliable ? My expectation (based on past history, but with the world being a game of Jumanji right now nothing is guaranteed !) is that the AI bubble will burst, lots of the providers will disappear taking the stockholders life savings with them, and at the end of it one or two genuinely viable businesses will emerge. Just as Google & Facebook did when the .com bubble burst, even if they have subsequently become evil monsters.

I strongly think Hive will survive this crash; as long as there are a few dedicated users and enough witnesses to keep the blockchain functioning, it can keep working on a technical level. All it will need then is a single real world application (something where true anonymity exists as a counter to endless corporate and state ID verification, maybe) to catch the public imagination and get things moving again.
