Home grown strawberries are the best ! So much more flavour than shop grown ones.

What we do with ours is put a layer of straw (not hay) around them, so the fruit isn't sitting on the dampness of the earth and benefits from air flow. We put a few pots of compost near the plants, that way the runners can find them and make new plants for next year (or escape onto the lawn, like they did in one area 🙄).
