The photos aren't bad, even on your digital camera ! But I would stick with the mid-grey background rather than matt black. Although black looks good in a lot of cases, it stops working if you want to show black-primed or mainly dark coloured miniatures. Terrain works underneath the models, but a fully terrain background can be distracting noise, and your painting deserves better than that :)
