Technology is something that keeps on evolving and that's how it should be. In the world of technology keeping something not upgraded or with no change for a long time is called obsolete. These days I see a lot of articles about Web 3 and how it is expanding its reach to more people worldwide. It's good that the new phase of the Internet is getting more attention from people and they like it because it offers much more than what Web 2 offers. This is the advantage of technological innovations because Web 3 is backed by highly advanced technology and mechanisms known as blockchain and tokenization.
There is a lot that we will get with Web 3 and even now when it is in the early phase we get to see a lot of development happening here. It is in the early stage and the mass adoption is yet to start but I believe the future seems to be bright and it is just a matter of time when we are going to see a significant transition from the traditional social media or web2 platforms to web 3.
Web 3 is Bigger
Web 3 is not just about social media instead it has a bunch of things under the umbrella of Web 3. Today I did ask a question to chat GPT about what this web 3 includes and I got a pretty good answer. I have highlighted some of the important keywords in the below snapshot that I have taken from chat GPT. It is really interesting to see that it covers a lot of things under one umbrella that can be considered Web 3.0. The reason why I have highlighted because now you can relate what are these words that we often hear and there is a lot for us to explore. Tokenization is the key here because that is used as part of the reward but it is not just limited to this because we also get some different digital assets that include NFT also.
You can think about finance, gaming, decentralised financing or decentralised applications (apps) etc. Still, all this is part of the web 3.0 world and that is what I am trying to say in this post that it is a very big space that has almost everything that is needed for us. Undoubtedly gaming is going to be another bigger segment and there are so many projects doing great work to bring more value. The gaming segment on Web 3 has been revolutionised and now it is not just limited to entertainment instead it offers much more and a possibility to earn monetary rewards.
Tokenization
Now we can hold a bunch of assets with different monetary values and sometimes the value can be significant for these assets. For example, if I talk about the splinterlands then we know that it has got so many assets on the ecosystem carrying different values. Some NFTs or different digital assets are expensive in the market and this is what we get with Web 3 gaming but sadly this is not available in traditional gaming platforms.
This is better because it is part of the new Internet it is more open source and user-centric instead of Web 2 which is mostly captured by the big technology companies. We get an environment that is not censored and we own the account and content that we share on the platform. It's all so exciting and I look forward to seeing how this transition going to happen because this is going to bring a lot of exciting elements for us. since I am already part of it I expect more people to be part of this new phase of the Internet and altogether it is going to be fun.
The future of web3 is exciting and now is the time to be part of it as we know that early movers get more advantages. Here I believe this advantage will come in form of the more knowledge which other people might take some time to become familiar with. Sooner we become part of it makes us feel the difference between what we had before and now what we have got in our hands to experience.
