I had painted both of these pieces for a friend of mine in Wisconsin at different times. The barn was for her husband who had seen the actual barn out on an old county road in the country and had declared that someday they would own one just like it. It was his dream barn and the painting was for fathers day.
The house painting was of their very first home that they had purchased together. They lived in the house until their second child arrived and they had officially outgrown their tiny cape cod-esque home. She commissioned this painting when they bought their second home to remember the little blue house on main street.
I enjoyed painting both of these because they were not my typical beach and ocean themes. Both of these pieces were done in acrylic on canvas.
