For the 'unsuspecting' new player that is very true, indeed.

Shorter missions:

• Require more energy and you wouldn't be able to keep up with them if you don't have energy boosters or are not lucky to get pizzas.
• They produce more Ego (reward-wise) compared to their longer counterparts.
• You have to be around to keep spamming missions that make the game less "idle".
• and in short, IT'S A PAIN IN THE ASS!!!

But a simple yet useful feature can change that...

And that is the fact that stacking Fans increases your Max STARBITS gain from missions.

When you first start out, it is so that every 50 Fans gained increases the MAX STARBITS you get from missions by 1 point. Now, that doesn't look much, but...

Here's the Catch:

That 1 Max STARBITS reward every 50 Fans get you is more prominent in shorter missions as they already have a few STARBITS as a reward.

An Example

1. A 5-min mission giving 1-10 STARBITS
2. A 1-hour mission giving 1-200 STARBITS

After gaining 50 Fans, the rewards increase by +1:

• 5-min mission now giving 1-11 (10% increase in MAX)
• 1-hour one giving 1-201 (0.5% increase in MAX)

Now the tables have turned, huh? :D

There's a certain point (in the number of fans), after which doing shorter missions becomes ENTIRELY more profitable. I'll leave the experiments to you as the answer can vary from person to person depending on their investment in the game - especially the daily time put into it.
