The ruins of Laufenburg can be easily reached by a walk, the ascent is no difficulty and in a few minutes you can reach your destination from this nice old town. The view over the town and the Rhine is very great, and it is also worth climbing the tower. The tower measures about 8.40 metres square and is supported by walls up to 3 metres thick.
The charming old town houses, with their winding alleys close to the Rhine also to the German part of Laufenburg. Today is the Rhine River, the only that still separates the two cities.
The main tower of the castle ruin was probably built around 1207 with the castle complex, as a pure fortified tower to protect the palace behind it.
The high entrance is at about 6 meters.
