What can you do on a free day when the weather is not nice at all and it's only raining, yes the best option is to visit one of the many museums in Zurich. The new exhibition at the National Museum Zurich takes you on a journey through the origins and development of Swiss culture. A series of permanent exhibitions including archaeology, history and a collection on Swiss history from its beginnings to the present day. The exhibition features over 7000 objects.
The exhibition is presented in continuity in a very modern way with a lot of multimedia elements. All exposed pieces are original and with the current digital presentation are also visually better to understand. We started with the part of archeologie Switzerland, with flint knives, stone axes, basketry, ceramic, bronze,forms and materials gradually changed over the centuries.
A stateroom from 1585, leaves a powerful impression of the Swiss history, craftsmanship and majesty. A nice combination of elegance and history.
The large map is a technical masterpiece, when is appeared was one of the best map in the world, this here is a reproduction of the Dufour map made from the original cooper plate by swisstopo in Berne.
