Even if you never have
The chance to see or touch the ocean:
The ocean touches you with every breath you take:
Every drop of water you drink, every bite you consume.
Everyone, everywhere is inextricably connected to
And utterly dependent upon
The existence
Of the sea.
~Sylvia A. Earle: The World Is Blue.
Fourth Seven Day Covenant.
This piece marks the end of my Fourth Seven Day Covenant and is the culmination of my work over the past week: With the theme of starfish and rockpools at Boomerang Beach: Using a square format with three squares in vertical alignment on either side.
In this final image, I have used the same starfish that appeared in my previous images within the six squares. And as the main image, I have used an image of water flowing into the rockpools in combination with one of my ephemeral art images .
For me now this piece exemplifies the coming together of images and symbolism of life and beauty, love and joy. It brings together my interests in the ecology of our marine world and the Seed of Life.
It also brings together my work with ephemeral art and photography and now montage. It also gives me something I've been seeking for a long long time: A theme worthy of spending time/energy to continue developing and then drawing/painting.
By itself, water does not produce the dimethyl sulfide molecules
Around which water gathers to form vapor ~ That becomes clouds
That in turn, become rain, sleet and snow.
Microscopic photosynthetic organisms in the sea
Do all of these things and much more.

Water flowing into the Rockpools.
Prochlorococcus is just one blue-green bacteria
That is so abundant: That it alone is responsible
For about 20 % of the oxygen in the atmosphere.

Orchids and the Seed of Life.
Put another way:
This nearly invisible form of life
Generates the oxygen in one of every five breaths
You take. No matter where on the planet you live. ~Sylvia A. Earle.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow I wish to share a summary of the artwork completed over the past four weeks: Including a few pieces that were completed but not shown.
A heart that is holding infinite possibilities.
A creative who is learning to trust the mystery of what will be.
A spirit that is willing to fly into new creative realms and share the journey. ~Ally.
