Let’s talk about DAIRY! 🥛🐄
Since starting my blog I have discovered that so many more babies are becoming dairy intolerant.
Breastfeeding mums and dairy intolerant babies are being advised to go dairy free.
Signs of dairy intolerance in babies can include, sickness, diarrhoea, reflux, eczema, and CMPA (Cows Milk Protein Allergy)
However many parents worry that if their babies/children are not having any dairy, where will they get their intake of calcium from?
Well let me start by saying that the key to healthy bones is not consumed through dairy! Healthy bones, teeth and hair comes from magnesium 👌
When you consume dairy it turns your blood acidic which means your body actually takes calcium out of your bones... so you loose calcium every time you consume dairy,
Cutting dairy out is only going to benefit your health and your childs💜
Magnesium rich foods are fish, nuts, and leafy greens, even taking regular magnesium Epsom salt baths will help your body absorb magnesium to help sustain healthy bones.
Therefore if you are breastfeeding, then ensure that your diet contains plenty of the above or take a daily magnesium supplement yourself which will pass through your breastmilk to your baby.
If you or your baby/child are fussy eaters, then another great superfood is Moringa Powder, which is ax plant based supplement. The leaves that the powder is made from contain high amounts of calcium, protein, magnesium, iron and other vitamins, more than milk and dairy products. It is lactose free and nut free, so those who are lactose intolerant or have nut allergies can consume them safely. Safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
