The Schauinsland is a mountain with a huge territory near Freiburg in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. In the Middle Ages this place was a silver-mining centre in the region.
Its height is about 1,284 m, so it's a perfect place for all winter sports or just to spend the day enjoying the nature.
The ski lift will help you get on the top in less than 30 minutes and during the trip you can watch the beautiful Black Forest. The ticket costs 15 euro.
You can also climb on the observation tower on the top of the mountain. Some people say that from there you can even see Mont Blanc, but we didn't have such luck because the sky was too cloudy.
