Problem solving is an adult trait, but it is important to know how to develop this skill in children. The child learns problem solving skills in the same way that he learns everything else, that is, he learns by observing older people, through experience and practice, Do some conclusions, as the child can teach this skill by offering daily models with the help of adults, and before that the child must realize the value of a problem. How to solve problems
There are several skills to solve problems, however, when the child solve a problem that does not use them all, but mastery makes him more flexible in solving problems, and these skills: [2]
Emotional management: The child needs to understand his feelings, learn how to manage them, and often young children need someone to help them know their feelings.
Know what the problem is: It is important to help the child identify and express his feelings in order to understand what the problem is.
Planning to solve the problem: Depending on the age of the child, some choices can be made, enabling him to look at different solutions before finding the right solution.
Check the solution of the problem: This is by asking the child about the solution he chose, whether it is a suitable choice or not, and to provide other solutions in the event that the first choice does not help in solving the problem.
Decision making skills
Problem solving requires the ability to make decisions, skills and qualities that help decision-making: [3]
Self-esteem: It is the child's feeling of complacency even if those around him oppose him.
Self-confidence: the child is able to ask for the information he needs, in addition to his ability to reject or express what he wants.
Thinking: Decision-making needs to be able to think and plan, and this comes through practice and experience.
