What a glorious day so far! We slept in, we had a nice breakfast and were slow to get moving. We went to the Fairmont Hot Springs site. We were told that there was an old bath house a small hike up the mountain. We went up the mountain and checked out this old bath house. It is an old brick building with hoses leading out of the mountain into really old hollowed out stone tubs. It was pretty run down. We looked up the mountain a little higher and there was steam, lot's of steam!
We climbed up further and there were a bunch of natural hot spring pools. It is also off season and the town is pretty much empty. So, we stripped down and soaked on a mountain side hot spring pool for hours. It was beautiful. The temperature of the pools was a pleasant bath temperature, meaning that you could stay in all day comfortably. It felt like we did. It might have been 3 hours. 3 hours very well spent.
On the way home we saw a Black Bear in the creek! It was likely only 50 feet away from us. We stopped traffic looking at this bear. One guy revved his engine and screeched past us, the other person saw what we saw and stopped traffic with us.
We relaxed, ate sandwiches and went to the resort rec centre. There is a pool, hot tubs, steam room. more relaxation is exactly what I could use... I have just gotten back from that trip. We have supper in the oven and firewood drying.
To add to this, I got a text message from someone who just bought a duplex and wants me to do his floors and paint and redo one kitchen! I got work lined up into the new year. Life is grand and I hope this trend continues. Now let's hope for steem to quadruple in price!
