I gotta admit, I am finding it a bit harder to come up with reasons why Steem is the best, not due to any problems with steem, but with me trying to find new reasons that I have not shared with you yet. I am going to keep on trying, but, out of respect for you, I don't want to start regurgitating posts that I have already written... but, on the bright side, I did come up with A LOT of reasons to be digging steem.
That said... I STILL GOT REASONS. Sorry for yelling.
So, Let's get into it!
Reason # 63:
The Reward Pool
This is a very interesting twist on the crypto concept. With Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto created the idea of mining new coins. The people who support the ledger with hash power end up getting a share of the new bitcoin created. That is how the coins get distributed. With Bitcoin, it goes to the miners.
Steem has a similar concept. There are new steem tokens released all the time. The only difference is that they are not distributed to miners (so to say), they are distributed to the users of the blockchain as deemed worthy by stakeholders (holders of steempower). So, I am writing a blog right now. If steempower holders decide that I should be rewarded for this blog (through their upvote), then I shall receive some of that newly minted steem in 7 days.
Steem gets distributed by the holders of steempower to users of steem based platforms. If you hold steempower, you get to decide who gets rewarded. I have a 7 cent upvote at full power. I have 10 full power upvotes a day. So, over the course of the week, I can potentially decide where $4.90 worth of steem should go. Pretty cool huh?
We, as steempower holders, are the deciding factor on the distribution of rewards. The more you have, the more you get to allocate.
The coolest thing about this is the fact that as it stands, we have a system that creates real currency, that rewards people for sharing thoughts, ideas, stories, art, creations... you name it. We assign value to it. We have a say in how the currency is distributed.
And, there you have it... another reason why STEEM is the BEST!
