When I was younger, I was having a bad day due to the overwhelm of growing up and trying to make something of myself. I was frustrated and didn't know how to move forward. I went for a walk.
Along my walk a homeless man stopped me and talked with me for a moment. I cannot remember what we talked about, but I will always remember what he said to me as we were parting ways. He yelled at me as I was walking away. He said "Hey! Do you see that tree?" He pointed at a tree in a nearby park.
"Yeah," I replied.
He responded to that with just one sentence which changed my bad day into a good one. "Picture it in ten years."
A bit of perspective is all that I was lacking... and patience I suppose.
