Time
Things change really quick in crypto, and people stay pretty much the same... impatient. There are tons of things happening in the crypto markets and I have been adjusting my strategy accordingly. The biggest change ultimately came down to where I spend my time and energy. More on that near the end. TLDR - the Hive blockchain is the best.
I am just another impatient human sitting in his rocket ship waiting to land on the moon. I have been watching from the sidelines as a ton of alt coins gained serious traction. I held onto my bitcoin. Until yesterday. I read a post by @nealmcspadden that he wrote a few days ago. I pondered it for a few days and I figured that he was pretty close to right on many levels.
What levels
I don't know what any coin is going to do, otherwise, I would likely be living in some castle with a yacht in the moat. I do know what I am into. I am into the Hive blockchain and I think that it is the future. I think the proof of brain project is awesome and I am excited to see it grow before my eyes. I think that Leofinance might just take over the world with their ever expanding array of crypto applications under development or being released. My wife has started a store up on Hivelist. I should be putting my money where my mouth is, and where my effort lies. Hive and tribes.
I have been staking Hive, staking POB, unstaking my Leo power to stake it on CUB and growing my portfolio on CUB finance. I have been on Hive-Engine lowballing all osrts of tribes and trying to get some stake everywhere. This is the blockchain that I want to see make the gains.
Neal doesn't have the answers either, but he knows how to crunch numbers... (to be fair, he knows better than me) and he went all in on CUB. His reasons were fairly sound.
BTC has maybe 5x to go on this bull run... maybe... 5x tops. $64K could be the top, but I doubt it.
CUB is at $1.83. CUB also pays dividends in real time. I don't like calling bottoms, but I don't see CUB going down much more than this. CUB has a lot of room to go up. Lots! 10x, 15x?? It could never go up that much either.
More Context
When BTC started running up, my portfolio was pretty much all BTC. At some point when Hive was still around $0.20, I took 20% of my BTC and moved it into Hive and LEO and got ready for what turned out to be the CUB airdrop. The 20% that I sold from my BTC turned out to get way more gains than my BTC. I was almost 50/50 when it started out 80/20.
I wanted to be very diamond handed with my BTC this run, but I have decided to spread it around a bit more keeping a smaller percentage as BTC for the time being. I cannot ignore the gains that I got outside of BTC.
Neal's call
He put everything into CUB/BUSD, save a little BTC for the CUB kingdom. The CUB/BUSD farm pays out a 50x multiplier. This way, instead of waiting on tokens to multiply in value, he holds a good stable portfolio that pays out a large amount of dividends. As long as CUB holds where it is, he should be making good enough gains to justify being in that farm. If Cub goes up, he said something about a Lambo.
My Strategy
I think BNB has a lot of upward potential. I moved most of my portfolio into the CUB/BNB farm. I think that the gains that I get from holding BNB combined with the dividends that I will get in the form of CUB will pay off well. Plus, I see CUB moving up from here. If I farm 10 CUB per day for the next month, that ends up being 300 CUB at the end of the month. That value combined with holding half BNB (one of the best performing crypto assets of 2021) should ensure that I am not only keeping up with the gains in the crypto market, but likely beating most positions I could be in without having to think about it. BNB should keep the pace and CUB should put me over the top.
When BTC ran up, BNB ran up more.
The monthly income from staking in the farm should offset the losses I incur holding the CUB instead of BTC, ETH or any other crypto asset. I think BNB should keep pace with these assets. You add 300 CUB to the mix every month and this is a winning combination. CUB may not perform as well as other crypto assets short term (as it is half pegged to a stable coin). The dividends I receive in CUB is the reason to hold CUB and why more people will be jumping in on it.
The gains in CUB should come longer term as people slowly come to trust it and migrate some funds over to CUB finance. They could come quicker too...
Cub Kingdoms
LeoFinance has been hard working on tons of developments. We have CUB Kingdoms coming out very soon and LeoBridge just launched. There will be another airdrop or 2 on the way as well. The hype is not going anywhere for LEO hodlers. Soon, you will be able to directly mine (not conventional mining, but grow your holdings) BTC on CUB, while earning CUB. This is going to be a big deal in the De-fi space. I have not seen anything like it.
How quickly we forget in a crypto minute. There is panic among the LEO tribe about prices falling. What do you do when people panic? I bought a lot of LEO at the $0.60 range in anticipation of project blank airdrops and potential governance token airdrops, sweetened by a 50% discount from ATH's). I see this as a temporary dip. Of course, I am holding most of my LEO on CUB, staking it in the CUB/BNB farm. I assume that when the project blank airdrop announcement gets announced, that liquidity providers on both ETH and BSC will be included.
Thought Experiment
If I have 0.1 BTC. $5700.
I buy 50/50 CUB/BNB. 1557 CUB/4.38 BNB and stake it in the farm with that 0.1 BTC.
Looking at the current ROI, our farm should get somewhere in the neighborhood of 480 CUB per month. 85 CUB/$1000 times 5.7... (cheap math/deal with it).
If BTC goes up to $68,000 next month, you would have had $6800 in BTC. A gain of $1100.
Instead, you will have $5700 in the LP, plus the gains CUB (50% of the farm) / BNB (50% of your farm) got while BTC ran up (hard to say) plus 480 CUB (currently $878).
If CUB and BNB moved up at all, we are keeping pace with / beating BTC on a really hot month. If BTC moves sideways, along with CUB and BNB, I am happy to be on this farm as I added 480 CUB.
If CUB and BNB go down... its another month in crypto. Make your plan and deal with it. We still farmed 480 Cub.
There are lots of holes in this strategy, but it is also pretty solid. I, for one, am bullish on CUB, and see there being some really nice gains on it.
LEO Power
Curation has never been my strong point. I have delegated Hive to @leo.voter and will be powering up my LEO that I receive from that delegation plus all of my author rewards moving forwards. I am not giving up on LEOfinance, I only wanted to do CUB up to the maximum. I am now happy with my position on CUB and will begin to increase my stake on the platform again too.
Proof of Brain
I am holding strong in the POB arena. I continue to stake every token that comes my way and am thrilled to be in on the ground floor of this project. I have been blogging and curating (when I can) for about a month. When I started blogging on POB, I had no clue that I would be looking at a monthly income of somewhere in the neighbourhood of $2000!!! This will not be able to sustain itself long term (or maybe it will?) as more people head over to the land of opportunity... but, it is great that I have found a place to blog and earn, along with LeoFinance, as I love writing about crypto.
I plan on staking long term on this one. This here is retirement crypto.
Put your money where your work is
I don't develop BTC, I don't hang out on github adding to any project. I am on Hive, voting on proposals, putting my 2 cents in. This is my home and this is what I want to see moon. I doubled my Hive holdings, and moved most of my portfolio into Hive related investments. I am pretty confident that this will work and if it doesn't, I feel better investing where I am invested.
This is it
I am in on CUB/BNB, LEO/BNB and the CUB den. I kept a bit of BTC in the Den for kingdoms. I have Hive, and a whole bunch of Hive Engine tokens. I am ALL in on this blockchain.
I am interested to hear your thoughts on my strategy or to hear about your strategy!
