And Then, the Poems
In the middle of all this — endpoints, APIs, EMAs, volume calculations — I kept advancing my book of poems.
And I think it’s done.
I got the portada— the cover — and when I looked at it, it felt accurate. Not just pretty. Accurate to the words inside. Accurate to the tone, the silence between the lines, the small alchemies I’ve been trying to build with language.
(After more than 10 years!!!)
Some of those poems, you may have already read here, in Alchemy of Poetics Words. And now they have a home. A spine. A face to show the world.
The Thread
Looking back at these two weeks, I notice a thread: I kept showing up to things I didn’t fully understand. An Agent I couldn’t connect. A skill that doesn’t return accurate results yet, till days ago. A cover I wasn’t sure I’d find.
And I kept going anyway. Not because I mastered anything. Because I touched it. Because I let myself be a beginner on vacation, with no deadline, no performance, just curiosity and a little stubbornness.
The book will find its readers this summer!!
But this week, I’m just proud I learned the words. And that I finished the poems.
Great end of vacation! Tomorrow is the beginning of another School year!
