hello great community of steemit and friends of @steemchurch, I hope you enjoy my post at #celestialchallenge started by
@sirknight.
An igloo is a work of engineering that conceals, under the icy dome, a special structure on several levels, underground passages communicating with other dependencies or neighboring houses and insulating coverings. It is a house built with blocks of ice, which is usually characterized by its hemispherical shape.
It is an ice house inhabited by the Eskimos and other villages with similar characteristics during the winter. These shelters are usually, therefore, temporary and are widely used by hunters. Building an igloo is simple and economical, which makes this type of housing a frequent alternative for Eskimos.
The igloo is built with compact snow and blocks of ice. The usual thing is that the igloo rises in the same place where the snow is extracted for the structure.
In addition to all this, we must highlight these other hallmarks of the igloos:
Today Eskimos scattered throughout Greenland, northern Canada and the Alaskan coast now live in modern prefabricated houses and dog sledding has been replaced by airplanes and snowmobiles. The tradition has been lost because of its rude lifestyle.
