Hello Steemians,
2020 has started more than a month ago, so you probably have started planning some of your travels for this year. If you intend to visit the Western part of Romania, don't miss Oradea. You will not regret :)
You can easily go there by taking a low cost airline(Ryanair operates direct flights from Eindhoven) or take a intern flight from Bucharest with Tarom(the national airline company). If you are in Budapest, it's just about 3h drive.
You will be amazed by the beautiful architecture resembling to Austrian and Hungarian cities, a testimony of the rich history of this region.
Black Eagle Palace roof top
The Black Eagle Palace was built between 1907 and 1909, replacing the Old Eagle guesthouse. The building was supposed to be a hotel. The glass painting from the above image was done in 1909.
It is located right in the heart of the city and today it hosts many coffee shops and restaurants.
The downtown is also very nice and appealing with a colourful central square which you will love.
And a bit of pink
The food is also great and one of my favourites restaurants was 'Butoiul de Aur' an 'à la carte' traditional restaurant, located in a magnificent historical building. Just an impressive location with high and beautiful decorated ceilings, you will fall in love with.
For those of you who have been in Bucharest, this restaurants resembles a lot to 'Caru' cu Bere' another beautiful restaurant, well-known in Bucharest.
& I had a very good tranditional Romanian sour soup
'til next time!
Cheers!
