One of the amazing achievements of science is social media which is rapidly growing. Most people are using social websites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google Plus, and Instagram, etc. Social media has made it possible to stay connected with people from far and wide.
This is a beneficial invention through which communication education research and publicity have become easy. Through this we can tour and travel to any corner of the world, chat with friends from home and have vast access to information on social media. It is an excellent platform for discussions where individuals can express their thoughts and experiences. Through this individuals can gain awareness on topics of interest and stay updated with the latest news.
Social media has also become an important medium for businessmen to promote their products and services. Through social media people can earn lakhs by working online from home. For young people living abroad social media makes it easier to stay in touch with their families.
However social media also has some negative aspects. Due to it children waste a lot of time which affects their performance in exams. News spreads throughout the world on social media even before it's verified. Fake accounts are used to mislead people. Excessive use of social media leads to people not spending time with their family and siblings.
Excessive use of social media has a negative impact on health. It can lead to anxiety depression and emotional instability. People who use social media excessively become isolated and prefer online interactions over real-life conversations. Sharing personal information on social media often leads to problems. While social media has become a means of earning it has also led to an increase in online scams and fraud resulting in financial losses.
No technology is good or bad in itself; its use determines whether it is beneficial or harmful. We should exercise caution while using social media and utilize it positively. We should refrain from sharing personal information on social media and instead share content that is beneficial to others.

Parents have a responsibility to closely monitor their children's social media usage. Before sharing news or information, verify its authenticity. Avoid clicking on suspicious links. Limit the time spent on social media to prevent it from affecting daily life and to ensure quality time with loved ones.
