Imagine someone with the world's best degree a mind faster than a computer but gets thrown off by slight criticism gets bedridden by minor failure and has their whole day ruined by a casual comment. Would you call them successful Not at all. The truth is if you're a slave to your emotions you're never truly free. Your IQ might get you a job but your EQ your emotional intelligence decides whether you live like a king or a slave. Today I'll take you on a journey to the ocean within where emotional waves will either drown you or take you to your desired shore.
We've been taught since childhood that solving math problems and memorizing books is wisdom but why do people who topped in school fail in life Because life isn't a math problem it's an emotional game. Emotional intelligence is the skill that teaches you to control your tongue when angry not lose hope when sad and turn desires into fuel for growth. The most successful people aren't those with the fastest minds but those with the most control over their emotions. They know emotions are like waves you can't stop them but you can learn to surf them.
Anger jealousy and sadness we fear them, hide them but do we know what they are Anger is a power that stands up against injustice. An ignorant person destroys themselves in anger but an emotionally intelligent person converts it into focus. They use it to achieve what they couldn't otherwise.
What's jealousy It's an inner voice telling you that you want what others have. Don't let it become resentment turn it into a compass guiding you to your goal. What's sadness It's the soil where empathy grows. Those who see know how to win hearts.
The second part of emotional intelligence is understanding others. Ever noticed how some people know how you're feeling without you saying a word They read the unspoken words in your silence. That's empathy the art of observation. When you step out of your bubble and feel others emotions you unlock their minds. People are willing to go the extra mile for those who make them feel heard and understood.
So how do you learn this skill Start by observing. Next time you're angry don't react immediately. Pause for five seconds and ask yourself why am I feeling this Is it really about the other person or is it an old wound Naming your emotions reduces their power. Be the driver of your emotions not the passenger. When you control the storms within no external storm can shake you. Your IQ might get you the job but your EQ decides your tenure and legacy.Work on your emotional intelligence because those who conquer themselves conquer the world.
