We all want success. Success feels great. Others acknowledge and value us. Families become proud. We become more rich, powerful or famous. We finally find those who love and appreciate us.

But does this feeling remain when we are left alone at the end of the day?
How long does it last?
How recent would we discover our need for brighter and more booming Success?
Will this feeling survive the criticism of jealous people?
Would we like others to be successful as we are, or we fear competition?

Yet, there are numerous stories about those who quit their dream jobs, sell their fancy houses and cars, and starting a journey in the wild or around the world. Others shift their rewarding careers to start other ones from scratch. There are also some celebrities who fall prey to severe depression or addiction despite their booming success.

These questions and stories show that not every success really feels good. There are some differences between success that feels good and success that doesn’t feel good. I may call them the genuine success and the in-genuine success. They both might be important at different circumstances but definitely they don’t feel the same.

In-genuine success is the one you achieve after hard work in an endeavor that doesn’t reflect who you are. The success you achieve only because you need success or not to look less successful than others. You are not really passionate about the subject of it. A lot of external motivation is needed to stay on track.

This sort of success needs to be booming to be felt by us. You seek recognition in the eyes of those you meet. You get irritated when someone doubts it or even looks indifference about. The good feeling of success in this kind is short-termed. When it ends you feel a void in your heart which urges you to seek more booming and quick one. It is a product of ego and no amount of it is enough.

Genuine success is quite the opposite. It is not a goal in itself rather a by-product of being involved in something you are passionate about. Something that feels like yours. There is no external motivation needed. You are motivated by curiosity, love, and passion. You are focusing on making what you are passionate about perfect in your own eyes. How others approach it is completely irrelevant. While working on it you look like hermit to others. You keep perfecting it because you feel it should be perfect.

Feeling rewarded in this kind is immediate and genuine. The tiniest improvement amazes you. As if you got on the top of the world. No amount of it is enough but in terms of passion and in an unegoic manner. Creativity becomes at hand as you work directly from your Heart, no rules to interrupt the flow and no external judgment to distract you.

It becomes your joyful journey, the one that is more rewarding than the destination.
