Strategy Beats Random Selection! — The Junior Versity Ruleset Made This Battle Interesting
Today's 42 mana battle was very interesting and the most interesting part was Rule Set 2 in which you are only allowed to summon monsters or Archons that have a mana cost of 6 or less. This is an interesting rule set because players who have good low-mana cards in their deck can survive well in this battle.
Before playing any battle it is important to understand its rule sets. I believe that 50% of your win rate comes from understanding the rule sets. However if you do not read the rule sets and make random selections your chances of losing increase significantly because there are many restrictions that you may not know about.
Before moving toward the battle let's understand which rule sets appeared what strategy I adopted and what kinds of monsters I selected.
Today's battle had three rule sets and I planned my strategy and selected my monsters accordingly.
RULE SET 1: OUTSIDER
This is a rule set in which you are only allowed to summon Wild units. All your other cards that do not belong to the Wild unit category are disabled in your deck and you cannot select them.
According to this rule set your strategy should be to select the strongest Wild card from your deck. In other words try to choose a monster with high health and high attack power.
RULE SET 2: JUNIOR VERSITY
According to this rule set you are only allowed to summon units or Archons with a mana cost of 6 or less. All cards in your deck with a mana cost greater than 6 are disabled and you are not allowed to select them.
This rule set made the battle very interesting and made monster selection much easier.
According to this rule set your strategy should be to select monsters from your deck that have a mana cost of 6 or less and have good health and armor.
RULE SET 3: FATE CERTAINTY
According to this rule set any unit that has the Affliction Poison Poison Burst or Stun ability has a 100% chance of triggering that ability. This means the ability will definitely trigger in this battle.
If you have monster cards with these abilities in your deck you should definitely select them for this battle. Your strategy should also be to give the highest priority to monsters with these abilities.
My Strategy and Monster Selection
According to these rule sets I planned my strategy and selected my monsters accordingly.
First keeping Rule Set 2 in mind I selected a 6-mana monster card for my Archon. It has the +1 Speed ability which increases the Speed of all units by 1. This means that at the beginning of the battle the Speed of every unit increases by 1.
After that I selected a monster with the Dodge ability for the front line. I chose it as my tank monster. This means that when attacks are made against it there is a higher chance that the attacks will miss. As a result it can survive longer in battle.
Along with this I selected a monster with the Reach ability for the second position allowing it to attack while staying in the second position.
In the third position I again placed another melee attacker so that my front line would have a good defensive setup.
After that I selected ranged attackers for the fourth and fifth positions. Finally I selected another monster with the Thorns ability which also has the Return Fire ability.
ON THE BATTLEFIELD (STRONG SELECTION FROM BOTH TEAMS)
The battle started in a very exciting way. When I saw the enemy units on the battlefield I realized that the opponent had also selected some very dangerous monsters. It was turning into a thrilling competition.
During the first round both sides delivered some powerful attacks.
As soon as Round 2 started one of my units was eliminated and one enemy unit was also eliminated. This brought the battle down to just 4 versus 4.
Similarly during Round 3 we continued to see regular attacks and again one unit from each side was eliminated.
These attacks continued through Rounds 3 and 4. As soon as Round 5 started one of my units was eliminated while two strong enemy units were also eliminated.
At that point I realized that I had gained control of the battle and that I was going to win.
At the end of Round 5 one heavy strike destroyed the enemy's last unit as well. In this way I achieved an excellent victory with the final result being 2 versus 0.
This is why if you plan your strategy according to the rule sets you can significantly improve your chances of winning.
What would your strategy be for this kind of battle and which monsters would you prefer to select? will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
