High mana battles become even more exciting when special speed modifiers are involved. They make monster selection and strategy more challenging as you need to think carefully before choosing your lineup. This becomes even more interesting in a 48 mana battle, where you have plenty of mana to build a powerful team but must select the right monsters to gain an advantage in the battle.
These are actually the battles that are both interesting and challenging. The challenge is how you can survive in this battle and how you can bring your best monsters into use.
To make sure you win any battle it is very important to understand the rulesets properly and select your monsters according to them. Even if you select a few monsters if they match the rulesets those monsters can create a winning probability for you.
Before moving towards monster selection and my strategy it is important to understand which ruleset appeared and caused difficulties in monster selection.
Ruleset 1: REVERSE SPEED
According to this ruleset units with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance to evade attacks.
And what happens with Reverse Speed is that it completely flips the normal turn order so slower units take their turns before faster ones.
That is why keeping this strategy in mind it is important to adopt a strategy according to this ruleset. You should try to select slow hitting monsters from your deck so they can strike before the opponent.
MY STRATEGY AND MONSTERS SELECTION
What strategy did I adopt while keeping this ruleset in mind?
Because this was a 48 mana battle with reverse speed active I picked slow and powerful cards carefully to dominate the turn order.
First I selected my Archon Aurelia which provides a +1 health boost to my allied units.
For the frontline position I selected Dread Traffarin which is a powerful 9 mana monster with having good health and armor to act as my front tank. The good thing about this card is that after the end of every round this monster heals him and restore 1/3rd of the health.
In the second position I selected a reach ability melee attacker which keeps on attacking staying at 2nd position. At normal, melee attackers doesnot perform attack being at 2nd postion unless having reach or charge ability.
From 3rd to 5th position, I selected mix combination of magic and ranged monsters. Their work will be to keep on attacking aggresively staying at back sides.
And in the last position I selected thorn ability monster. Any enemy monster who have sneak ability will hit the lowest health monster and in result because it have thorn ability, 50% of the damage will be returned back to the attacker.
ON THE BATTLE FIELD
When I see my units and enemey units It was little bit confusing. Both sides had strong monsters. But the opponent monsters positioning was not good which gives a hedge in the battle.
The battle started with attacks coming from both sides. From round 1 to 2, heavy attacks were trolling. As round 3 started opponent looses 2 of its monsters and my one monster was eliminated.
Until round 3, it was still confusing that who will win the battle.
By Round 4 and Round 5 my team took complete control of the battle. The enemy frontline units could not survive and they got eliminated one by one. In the end of the round, my 4 monsters were alive and enemy all units were destroyed.
And at the end of Round 5 I achieved a very good victory. In this way I secured a win in just 5 rounds.
I would say that the main reason behind my victory in this battle was the proper understanding of the ruleset and selecting slow heavy monsters that completely come in my favor.
What would your strategy be in these types of rulesets and which monsters would you prefer? will be glad to see your answers in the comments section.
