A battle with the Noxious Fumes ruleset where every unit takes poison damage is very dangerous. In this type of battle it is very important to choose your monsters with the right strategy.
Today's 50 Mana battle was very interesting because it had three different rulesets and I entered the battle with a specific strategy.
First lets understand the rulesets of todays high Mana battle.
The first ruleset was Target Practice.
All Magic and Ranged units gain the Snipe ability. With Snipe, Magic and Ranged attackers target the enemys 2nd position instead of the front tank. They attack the first non-Melee monster behind the front tank.
Because of this it is important to place a strong secondary tank in the second position with high Armor and high Health, since that monster will be targeted very quickly.
The second ruleset was Noxious Fumes which I mentioned earlier.
All units become poisoned at the start of the battle. After being poisoned every unit takes 2 damage at the end of each round. This means their Health keeps decreasing throughout the battle.
In this ruleset monsters with low Health are eliminated very quickly. That is why you should choose monsters which must have high health power so that they can survive in the battle for the long time.
The third ruleset was Lost Legendaries
where you cannot select any Legendary monsters. It is a restriction ruleset that only allows non Legendary units.
Keeping all three rulesets in mind I chose an Archon that provides extra Armor. The reason was simple. Poison would reduce my monsters Health anyway so I wanted monsters with strong Armor to absorb as many enemy attacks as possible.
For my lineup I placed a tank monster with 2 Melee Attack in the first position. In the second position I selected another tank monster with good Armor and high Health because that position would receive heavy attacks in this ruleset.
In the middle positions I used a combination of Magic and Ranged attackers so they could keep dealing damage throughout the battle. In the back position I again placed a Magic and Ranged attacker.
Today I chose an aggressive strategy because the monsters Health would keep dropping due to the poison. If you have heavy damage dealer you can eliminate enemy units much faster before the poison finishes your own team.
High Mana battles usually last for many rounds but because of these rulesets, this battle ended much sooner. At the start the fight was very competitive and I lost two monsters early. However my middle position monsters kept attacking for a long time.
In the end the battle came down to one monster against one monster. Both monsters had only 2 Health left and 1 attack power each. As soon as the round ended both monsters took poison damage and were eliminated at the same time.
For the first time I witnessed a draw in this type of battle. Neither I nor my opponent won. It was a very exciting and memorable battle for me. That is why I decided to share this battle strategy with all of you.
If you get these kinds of rulesets in your battles what strategy would you use and what type of monsters would you prefer? Will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
