In this 28 mana battle I didnt even get the chance to play because the rule set restrictions were so strict that I didn't have a suitable Archon card in my deck.
In todays contentc I will share my experience from two different battles and explain why it's important to have a complete collection of cards in your deck. Having Archons and monsters with different mana costs and abilities helps you stay prepared for every type of rulesets.
Two of these rule sets had strong restrictions and when such restrictions appear in a low mana battle, choosing the right monsters becomes very difficult. You need a well planned strategy to have a chance of winning.
Sometimes we see these strict rule sets in high mana battles and sometimes in low mana battles. In high mana battles they are usually easier to handle because you have more mana and more monster choices.
However in low mana battles your monster selection is already limited and adding extra restrictions makes the battle even more challenging.
Let's first understand the three rule sets in this 28 mana battle. That gone wrong.
The first rule set was Fours a Crowd. In this rule set you can summon a maximum of only four units. Even if you still have mana left you are not allowed to summon more than four monsters.
That means you must carefully choose four monsters with good attack power, health and useful abilities. Although you have many cards in your deck and enough battle slots, this rule set limits you to only four monsters.
The second rule set was Dragon Breath. In this rule set whenever a unit is hit directly by a Magic or Ranged attack it receives the Burning effect. At the start of every round the Burning effect has a 33% chance to spread to adjacent units. Once a unit is burning it loses 2 health at the end of every round.
This rule set clearly favors Magic and Ranged attackers so it is usually a good idea to include more of these monsters in your team. Every successful Magic or Ranged attack can apply the Burning effect and slowly weaken the enemy. However if one of your monsters has the Cleanse ability it can remove the Burning effect from an allied unit.
The third rule set was Little League. This rule set adds another restriction. You can only summon monsters that cost 4 mana or less then that .
Unfortunately none of my Archons matched this rule because all of them cost more than four mana . Since I didn't own a 4 mana Archon I couldn't build a valid team and was unable to play this battle.
I wanted to share this experience because it shows how important it is to have Archons and monster cards of different mana costs in your collection. If you dont, certain rule sets can leave you with very limited options just as they did in my case, and that led to my defeat.
Right after that I played another battle, this time with 24 mana. The battle featured two rule sets i.e Brute Force and Lost Magic.
BRUTE FORCE
In Brute Force the unit with the highest attack power always attacks first.
LOST MAGIC
In Lost Magic Magic monsters cannot be summoned so only Melee and Ranged attackers are allowed.
For this battle I selected an healer based Archon to provide extra health to my entire team.
I then chose a strong tank for the front position followed by a Melee monster with the Reach ability in the second position. Finally I added a Ranged attacker to complete my lineup.
The battle was very exciting. After a few rounds my team eliminated the enemy's main tank then took down its support monster followed by the third monster.
In just 7 rounds I cleared the opponent's lineup and secured a comfortable victory.
What strategy would you use in these kinds of rule sets and which monsters would you prefer? Will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
