In most situations, your physical appearance is defined by the style of your hair. In most Ghanaian community, most people classify people based on their hair style. A person who always goes with balde hair( a head with no hair) is presumed to be mostly old in Ghana. If you are a young boy and your father always does that to you, your friends will tag you the sakora man.

Those who prefer dreadlocks are mostly tagged weed smokers and are popularly called rasterfarians in Ghana. Those who like it, Bushy, are normally called the Afro guys. But if you are my type who will want their hair to go Bushy, trim and leave a portion of the hair, we are normally tagged as the bad 馃憥 boys. That is the ponky joe style. But no yawa we no they care!.

For my type of hairstyle, the barber must have experience in order to make it look very beautiful . You will end up making your hair sakoora. But with the right and qualified barber you will look very handsome.
This is a personal experience I had once in 2019. I paid a visit to a new community and I knew no one in that community apart from the man I visited, I spent some time over there and when it was time for me to return to my community my hair had gotten bad and there was the need to give it a dressing. I walked into one barbering salon and requested for my usual ponky hair cut. To my surprise, he did bartered me alright, but traveling with it was something else. It was a total disappointment, and before then, I had never had such an encounter before.
As soon as I git to the man I paid the visit to, he asked, "Did you go to the salon located right in front of the market?" I replied yes baba, He continued, "That is why you look unrecognizable." Some hair stylists can make you look unrecognizable. Your own family will not even be able to identify when you are far unless you get close enough. I did not have any other option than to settle for a sakoora on that day before I left that community.
