we are on the verge of a new war in Eastern Europe. Putin, who is losing a lot of internal support, is pushing for a war to lift his score as the economy is hit, the only thing he can offer is patriotism in front of an enemy that does not want to comply to the wishes of the wannabe Tzar.
He tried to push the war for so long, but nobody wanted to react. He has claims on all Eastern Europe, where he just forgot that for a good reason, there is no Soviet Union any more and countries can decide for themselves, and who wants to be a slave to Russia?
As most economies under a despotic regime, tried to ban crypto, Russia wanted to ban it also. But, this was before the Ukrainian crisis, which will unfold probably in a war and sanction over Russia.
One of the sanctions would be the decoupling from the international swift system, which will make transfer of capital in and out of Russia on a traditional way, basically impossible.
China, another place of joy and freedom, would probably pump money into Russia, making it, it's vassal and Emperor Winnie the Pooh, ruler over the Russians.
Russia has seen the idiocy they are heading and a damage control would be to allow crypto, as this would be the cheapest way, to get money in or out, but probably more in, as they need it.
If this will be the case, the USA will push for tougher regulations on crypto and speed up the process. It can be a good way for mass adoption, as long as it will not be forbidden, to screw up the Russians. Most funds come from the USA and a ban there, would probably slow down the mass adoption, for the years to come. It would be a long winter for crypto, where only a lift of this ban, would be a solution.
I still hope, that there will be no war, and the peace talks would prevail, but given the internal struggles of Putin, he is forced to attack, no matter the human live cost.
We will see interesting moves in crypto the following months with a lot of swings, depending on the regulation moves.
