Hi,
today we have the launch of the new Zack Snyder film, Army of the Dead. What I sometimes await more than the film is the original soundtrack to it, and on this film it is amazing, and it fits to the theme.
Like Nolan goes with Hans Zimmer, Snyder goes with Thomas Holkenborg, the Dutch master known as Junkie XL
Even if it is an OST for a new released film, it belongs to the #rockclassics as it is about Las Vegas and Las Vegas is about Elvis. Thanks, @uwelang, for this great tag,
So I said about Elvis and the first two songs are not in his interpretation.
The Kenny Rogers - Gambler (#love the song and Kenny), which appears in the trailer and the Viva Las Vegas, which is an Elvis song is interpreted by Richard Cheese and Allison Crowe in a cool swingy way.
And here is the King with Suspicious Minds, an amazing song and when I say that 1969 was the best year in human music, this song only underlines it! Elvis was amazing, having the soul in his music!
And another Elvis song which fits to Las Vegas - Night life. I've got a feeling that Bautista has a lot of help from his OST like he had also in Guardians of the Galaxy I+II.
What a surprise, we have this gorgeous version of Zombies by The Cranberries. Acoustic version have their own charm I would say, especially on movies.
We have not only rock, like this classic from Culture Club. And we have also some real classic music like the following song.
Yes, Richard Wagner with his pompous style. Listen carefully to it, as the cancel culture trend might forbid it one day.
We have also some covers like the second song, where I like much more the original.
Bad Moon Rising, the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic interpreted by Thea Gilmore and The End, from The Doors interpreted by The Raveonettes
There are some more songs which I let you discover. Happy listening!
