Hi my crypto friends,
as expected, further hurdles will be created against the crypto adoption. Today the news came in that the UK is banning binance as an exchange. This is clear steps in making the accesability of crypto, a lot harder for the masses.
There are solutions to regulate and mitigate the risks with the darker side of the economy, especially now that crypto is used to cover a lot of pension funds. This is the safety that we build ourselves and where the state can't intervine.
Banning the largest crypto exchange is just a hurdle. We need to show others the options, like DeFi, which make the life pretty easy once the system with the opportunities and risks involved are understood.
I think that there will be countries that will still embrace crypto and will see that it can help them. For the others, there will be VPN to the free countries. That is a technical solution, to avoid the nonsense of state politics as internet is worldwide even if it is banned in some countries. With the right connection we can reach everything we want.
The UK disappoints once again, and we might see it soon drift to socialism, because of the combofailures done by the rulling party.
I hope, for my british friends, that this ban will be lifted soon, as it is nonsense.
How do you see this ban on binance in the UK? Do you see some other measures in the next days that can shake up the crypto world?
EDIT: Thanks to @revisesociology I've received more data:
The Ban only applies to their English wing, which wanted to set up bank accounts in the UK, they didn't register with the FCA thus weren't allowed to go through with their plans.
